All-Parish Retreat for All Ages

Families, Couples, Singles, Kids—all are welcome at our annual All-Parish Retreat at Shrine Mont! There’ll be something for all ages!
This year, our theme is “The Art of Hope, The Hope of Art.”
In this fraught and tender season in our national life, we who follow Jesus cling to hope. As St. Paul wrote in his letter to the Ephesians, we “set our hope on Christ” (Ephesians 1:12).
When worry or fear or hopelessness threaten to overwhelm us, how do we continue to choose hope? How do we speak and act in hope?
We will seek answers to these questions as we explore the intersection between art and hope. We’ll view hope-filled work of visual artists, hear words of hope from poets and memoirists, and investigate themes of hope in scripture.
Then, individually or in groups, we’ll be invited to create our own expression of what hope looks like, smells like, sounds like, feels like or tastes like. A variety of options will be available, from visual collage to writing to creative movement to song. We do this in hope that everyone present will discover a means of expression that brings them to life and fills them with hope.

Please pay online (choose “Parish Retreat – Shrine Mont 2024” from the Fund drop down menu), or make checks payable to Church of Holy Comforter, with “Shrine Mont Parish Retreat” in the memo line. Leave checks in the Church Office. Financial aid is available (contact Peggy Miller).
A non-refundable fee of $20 per person is due with your registration form to hold your place for the weekend. The remaining balance must be paid in full by Sunday, September 1. Your registration is not complete without your deposit. You may also pay the entire balance due with your registration, if you prefer.
