Church Administration

Church Administration

Promoting good stewardship of our resources and caring for the wonderful legacy of our buildings and campus.

Our church administration team oversees the daily activities and operations—managing the campus and the business side of the church and ensuring smooth, efficient, and engaging operation.

Building & Grounds Committee:

Plans for facility maintenance and future expansion.

Communications Committee:

Composed of vestry, staff, clergy, and other interested members of the congregation. Its goals are: (1) to increase awareness of and participation in the mission and ministry of Holy Comforter for current members, using various means of internal communication; (2) to increase the awareness of Holy Comforter for members of the local community, in order to encourage participation in the life of the church by those who are not now members, using various means of external communication and marketing; (3) to improve communication among ministry leaders.

Diocesan Representative/Region V Representatives:

Individuals are selected by the vestry each year for respective three-year terms to represent Holy Comforter at the regional and diocesan levels, and attend the Diocesan Annual Convention each November.

Endowment Board:

The Endowment Funds play an important role in the life of Holy Comforter where the gifted funds themselves are invested and the income used to ensure the vitality of this church. Legacy gifts and bequests, as well as planned giving for a particular purpose are received, invested, and administered by the Endowment Board. Funds generated by endowment income sustainably fund parish ministries beyond allocations in the annual operating budget.

Finance Committee:

Monitors the church’s finances and makes recommendations to the vestry on pending financial matters.

Memorial Gift Funds:

A monetary gift can be given to the church for some specific purpose or as an undesignated gift to be combined for purchases to enhance our worship or ministries.

Offering Tellers (Counters):

Assist in counting the offering each Sunday with a vestry member.

Office Volunteers:

Assist in office support including data entry, mailings, and answering phones.

Stewardship Committee:

Organizes the annual Pledge Campaign as well as initiatives to raise awareness of all aspects of year-round stewardship, including a time and talent Ministry Fair and Stewardship of the Creation.

Vestry:

The 12-member governing body of the church. Vestry elections are held each year for new members to serve a 3-year term.
