Men’s Retreat

May 3 - May 5

(at Shrine Mont Conference and Retreat Center)

Remember when you were a boy? The freedom, the innocence? And the foolery that came from our innocence—but also from pushing the boundaries? Or just being bored, and bursting with youthful energy, so we kicked up a ruckus?!

Somewhere along the way we had to give all that up. As men, many of us face chronic stress, a breakneck pace, explosions overseas, climate change, and the weight of responsibility upon our shoulders. Now is the time to recall potent resources and engage in an essential task of masculine maturity: learning what Jesus meant when he called us to be like little children.

The childlikeness we decline to cultivate morphs into childishness. The sacred foolery we fail to activate descends into foolishness. And only two letters separate an unholy ruckus from a holy ruckus.

Join Matthew Lyda, founder of Recover The Wild, as we resuscitate our innocence, hone our generative ridiculousness, and explore Bayard Rustin’s “Angelic Troublemaking.”

Online registration coming soon. For now, please contact Randy McGuire to register.
