The Holy Comforter Concert Series continues on Sunday, April 24 with a performance by Third Practice, a chamber vocal ensemble of four singers and a pianist.
Their program, titled “When I Am Alone,” will feature the Hermit Songs of 20th century American composer Samuel Barber, interspersed with other works ranging from the Renaissance to the present day that express longing for both solitude and connection.
The ensemble’s musicians are all professional vocalists from the greater Washington area who seek to bridge the gap between traditional classical and contemporary music through thoughtful and adventurous programming that explores the close connections between today’s music and the music of the past. Admission is free, with donations requested to support Holy Comforter’s music program and concert series.
