ECW Women’s Retreat
May 13 - May 15
The theme will be “The Harmony of Healing.”
Please join us the weekend of May 13–15 for our first in-person women’s retreat in two years! We’ll be back at glorious Shrine Mont where we will sing songs of praise and rejoicing; sing songs of gratitude and thanksgiving; sing to God because God has done great things for us, and we are glad indeed! Once again we will be able to experience in-person fellowship, laughter, and spirituality in God’s presence on the mountaintop.
This year’s guest speaker is The Very Rev. Erika L. Takacs, an Episcopal priest, teacher, and musician currently serving as the Rector of the Church of the Atonement in Edgewater, Chicago. Before becoming a priest, Erika was a high school and middle school chorus teacher. She enjoyed a career as a singer specializing in early music. Her love of music has always been woven into her vocation, and she enjoys leading regular retreats for organizations of clergy and church musicians. She finds particular inspiration in the music of J. S. Bach, the writings of Esther de Waal and Nadia Bolz-Weber, and the poetry of Mary Oliver. Her favorite hobbies include snuggling with her dog, reading, and baseball.
During this retreat, we will be looking at (and listening to) the harmony of healing, at how music can reflect, and advance God’s reconciling work in the world.
