Every church and mission, whether small or large, is important. The goal of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia’s new Office of Congregational Vitality is to grow churches in strength, vitality, and joy-filled ministry.
This fall, the Rev. Shirley Smith Graham, Minister for Congregational Vitality, is traveling across the diocese to identify the vitality needs of congregations of various sizes and contexts. The insights gathered, along with existing data, will be used to provide an at-a-glance view of parishes and mission churches and to help diocesan leaders understand how to best focus support on their health, sense of mission, and joy. A realistic and meaningful plan of action will be developed to support congregational vitality.
On October 17 at 7:00 p.m., Holy Comforter will host the session for our region (North Fairfax Region). Please join us in the Community Hall as we begin the process of discerning our call as a congregation—seeing ourselves clearly, identifying our vital signs and markers for thriving. All are welcome to attend.
