Book and Movie Club: The Church Cracked Open

Our special book and movie club meets monthly, alternating between discussing books and movies, featuring titles that will deepen our understanding of racial justice. We include fiction and nonfiction, drama and documentaries.

The Church Cracked Open invites us to surrender privilege and redefine church, not just for the sake of others, but for our own salvation and liberation. Author, Stephanie Spellers, is the Presiding Bishop’s Canon for Evangelism, Reconciliation, and Creation.
The book is about 150 pages, and is available for $15 print version, and $11 on Kindle. Please read the book ahead of time, and we’ll discuss during the Zoom call.
