From Gaza and the West Bank of Israel to Lebanon and Iran, the Middle East has been one of the most violent areas of the globe. Richard Rubenstein, an expert in the history of religion and conflict, asks what we can learn by applying the moral and political insights of Isaiah and Jeremiah to the policies that have produced such intense violence.
Rubenstein is University Professor Emeritus at George Mason University’s Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution and is the author of numerous books on resolving violent conflicts, including Thus Saith the Lord: The Revolutionary Moral Vision of Isaiah and Jeremiah (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2006).
